The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open!
Seniors can complete the FAFSA by clicking on this link studentaid.gov.
You can login by using your FSA ID.
In Alabama, it is a high school graduation requirement to have a completed
FAFSA (or signed waiver letter) on file. Also, scholarships offered from some
colleges require a completed FAFSA on file. Please know that one parent or legal
guardian has to create their own FSA ID - if they do not have one already. This will
be needed for your senior to send you an invite to complete the parent information
section as well as to sign the application.
If seniors or your parents have any questions regarding FSA ID or FAFSA, please
email Dr. Hamer, Career Coach at lhamer@shelbyed.org. Please make note that
a FAFSA Workshop will be held in the Media Center at Calera High School from
8:00 am-11:00 am on Friday, January 17th.
Financial aid specialists from Jefferson State Community College will be
available to assist you during the workshop.

Parents,
If you did not fill out the google form to precheck out your student, the form has been opened back up until 9 PM.
