Shelby County Schools earned a 2024 NSPRA Gold Medallion Award for its Empowering and Inspiring Excellence: The Path Forward Strategic Plan. NSPRA’s Gold Medallion Award is the top national competition in North America recognizing superior school public relations programs and campaigns grounded in strategic communication best practices. 

Shelby County Schools earned a 2023 NSPRA Award of Excellence-Social Media for its Fit February Social Media Campaign. As part of the district’s Mental Health and Wellness Initiative called Shelby Cares, the FIT February campaign encouraged healthier lives, both physically and mentally, for the faculty and staff. The FIT campaign promoted fitness using four videos highlighting staff members engaged in healthy hobbies and activities. These videos were shared on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and through the district SMORE Newsletter.
