💥🚨‼️Important ACAP Testing Date changes due to no school today !!!!! We will now test this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday !
We hope Spring Break has been relaxing, rewarding and fulfilling and that everyone is safe today🎉‼️🩵❤️☺️ We look forward to welcoming your OMMS student back to school tomorrow morning, Tuesday, April 1. Don't forget that school begins at 7:45am sharp ~ set those alarm clocks now and remember to allow time for traffic !
💪‼️💥 🚨REMINDER🚨 OMMS will have important ACAP testing this week !!! Testing will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. No checkouts until after 11am on these days. Also it is imperative to be ON TIME to school these days, please ! If you arrive to school after the testing begins , you will not be able to test on that day and have to do a make up on another day. Please be sure your student gets plenty of sleep this week! Turn phones off at night! And remind them to finish strong on the test and try hard! It's ok to be the last person testing and don't rush ! 💯💪‼️💯💪‼️

A HUGE congratulations to our very own Trey Taylor !!!! Trey competed in the New Balance Indoor Track National Championships this past weekend in Boston, Massachusetts in the 60 meter dash. Trey won is heat with an impressive time of 7.50!! He placed 14th overall out of 78 competitors!
He represented OMMS well and wore his Oak Mountain colors ❤️💙

History TOOK FLIGHT in Mrs. Nichols' 6th grade Social Studies class! ✈️🍫 While learning about the Cold War and the division of Germany, students took part in a hands-on Berlin Airlift simulation—where history, STEM, and a little espionage came together! Inspired by Gail Halvorsen, the "Candy Bomber" who dropped sweets to West Berliners, during the 1948-49 Soviet blockade, the Western Bloc, backed by the Marshall Plan, had plenty of supplies to engineer parachutes for their candy bars. Meanwhile, the Eastern Bloc, under Soviet control, had to get extra resourceful with limited materials! In the end, alliances were tested, history came to life, and, of course, candy was enjoyed! And congratulations to our Candy Drop winners from each period! 🍬🇩🇪 ✈️
Ms. Pierce’s 6th grade ELA classes went on a camping trip today as they read the last chapter of Wednesday Wars, by Gary D. Schmidt. We talked about how “life imitates art” as they relate to the characters in the novel and their English teacher, Mrs. Baker. Since Shakespeare is such a big part of this novel, the students all know to “beware of the Ides of March”. Be safe this weekend!
