🌍✨ Immigration Day in 6th Grade! ✨🌍 Mrs. Higg, Mr. Peters, and Mrs. Nichols's Social Studies classes transported us back to the turn of the century for an unforgettable Immigration Day in which our students simulated the journey from Europe to America through Ellis Island.
They disembarked from their ocean liner, faced health inspections (fingers crossed for no quarantines! 🤞), and showcased their knowledge of their new home as they greeted the Statue of Liberty. 🌟
After passing their Inspection with Ellis Island officials (played by our amazing students!), they were welcomed by Uncle Sam himself! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸
It was a fantastic learning experience that brought history to life! Huge shoutout to all the students for their creativity and enthusiasm, and our parent volunteers who made it possible! 👏❤️
🎉🏆 Our OMMS Scholars Bowl teams had their first practice of the year! We can't wait to dive into competition season and show off all their hard work! Let's go, Scholars! 💪📚 ⚡️🔔

Date Change! 6th Grade Immigration Day is now Wednesday, September 18th due to the forecasted bad weather for this Friday.
🚢✨ Our 6th graders are gearing up for Immigration Day, where they'll simulate crossing the Atlantic from Europe to America in the early 1900s! Parents, no need to buy anything—just check your closets for costumes. We look forward to a fun day of learning and making history come alive! 🌍📜
More information and costume inspiration can be found on students' Schoology Social Studies class page.
🎉🏈 We loved seeing everyone rocking their PJs and helping us kick off Spirit Week in style!😴💫
⚠️ Just a quick update—due to the weather, the game has been moved from Thursday night to Wednesday night. ⚠️
Tomorrow is Tacky Tuesday and our daily pep rallies begin! So let’s gear up to cheer on the Eagles! 🏈🦅

✨✨✨ Our first "Taylor Tuesday" of the year was a hit! Inspired by Taylor Swift's spirit of kindness and connection, we spent the morning creating friendship bracelets for the kids at Children's Hospital, spreading the Swiftie love beyond our school 💖💖💖
Join us every Tuesday morning for more Taylor-inspired fun! 6th graders, meet us in Mrs. Nichols' room, and 7th and 8th graders, come by Mrs. Rich's room. Let’s keep the spirit of The Eras Tour alive and "make the friendship bracelets!" 🌟🌟🌟
Reminder: We have a football game tomorrow night!! 💙🏈❤️
