We LOVE our students!
HOCUS POCUS Drugs aren't our FOCUS! Our students participated in Dress up days for a week to show their dedication to stay away from drugs during National Red Ribbon Week! Students had a lesson from our resource officers officers on how drugs impact your health! The finale of the week was our "Say BOO to drugs" costume party on Halloween!
We celebrated our Calera Middle School Veterans on Tuesday, November 7th. Students had the opportunity to RSVP and invite their Veteran to be a part of a concert that was put on by our band and choir. Then, our FCCLA held a special breakfast so that our students could enjoy this very important day with their loved ones! Thank you to Calera Middle School Band, Choir, FCCLA, and FBLA for their hard work on this program.
While studying mood and narrative elements, 8th grade ELA classes set the mood for a scary story around the campfire! 8th graders read Edgar Allan Poe’s “A Tell Tale Heart” while students enjoyed a campfire ambience and s’mores (pop tarts)!
On October 20th, our SGA, FBLA, FCCLA, and TSA organizations created and hosted a Fall Festival for the Calera Exceptional Learning Community. The students we hosted played games, explored sensory activities, decorated pumpkins, had snacks, won prizes, and played all morning long with our volunteers. It was a great day to be an eagle!
