Meet the Librarian

Amy Hogan

Hello, everyone!

I am Amy Hogan, and I have been the School Librarian at OMES since 2005. That's a lot of kids and a lot of books!

After graduating from Samford University (Go Bulldogs!) I was an assistant at the Irondale Public Library, then earned my master's degree in Library Science at the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). I was a Children's Librarian at the Central Branch of the Birmingham Public Library as well as a storyteller at the Hoover Public Library before officially becoming an OMES Bluebird.

Two of my favorite things are kids and books, and connecting one to the other is the best job in the world! I love helping my students find just the right book and hearing them laugh during storytime. It's my privilege to serve the OMES community and teach your children to enjoy books and all they have to offer.
