Mr. Butts has over 24 years experience in public education and was most recently serving as the Assistant Principal at Helena High School for the past 9 years before becoming the Principal at New Direction/Success.  

Mr. Butts earned a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Faulkner University and a master's degree in Instructional Leadership from the University of West Alabama.  He is married to his wife Scarlett and they have two sons, Nicholas and Nathan.
