I am so excited to be a member of the Montevallo Middle School team! The 2019-2020 school year marks my twenty-second year in education! It’s amazing how time flies! Before joining MMS, I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles, with the majority of my service being in school systems across Alabama. I’ve also served in roles while living in Louisville, Kentucky and, most recently, Kansas City, Missouri.

Some of the roles I have held in my career thus far includes English Teacher for grades 6 through 12, Elementary School Principal, Middle and High School Assistant Principal, Federal Programs Supervisor here in Shelby County, and most recently Middle School Principal at Lincoln College Preparatory Academy Middle School.

My academic background includes a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Auburn University; a Master of Science in Secondary Education from Indiana University (New Albany); and a Bachelor of Arts in English/Communications from Stillman College.

I look forward to a great year working alongside you and the rest of the team as we focus on serving our Montevallo students and parents. Enjoy the last few weeks of your summer break. August 8th will be here before you know it, and the fun will begin! Go Bulldogs!

Montevallo Middle School is a hidden treasure in the Shelby County School System, and I am proud to be part of this wonderful school. As a Shelby County native, I have a vested interest in our students, staff, families, and community, and I am so excited to dedicate my love, support, and efforts to Montevallo.
