Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) welcomes you to Montevallo Elementary School! We have planned a terrific year of fun activities for you and your child. Our activities and events provide a wealth of opportunities for parents to meet other parents as well as for parents and students to develop a rapport with our faculty and staff outside of the classroom setting. Current research suggests that fostering these interpersonal connections can improve students’ academic success and classroom behavior. Please see the M.E.S./PTO Calendar of Events, Upcoming Events and current newsletters found on this webpage for a complete listing of our planned activities.
PTO-sponsored activities and events include a variety of fund-raising, teacher appreciation, student enrichment and community building initiatives to support our mission of parents and teachers working together to Make Education Special for our children. There are many ways to become actively involved in our MES community.
You are invited to attend our PTO Board meetings to share your ideas for strengthening our community through PTO-related events or simply to learn more about the work of the PTO. Our PTO meetings are announced and planned prior to other school functions such as Math Night, Chorus Events or other school functions.
If your schedule does not allow you to volunteer time at the school or to attend a PTO event or Board meeting, you may contact us (see PTO Board Contacts) to share your ideas. Please also know that your material goods, in-kind service or monetary contributions are greatly appreciated, too!
It is through a combination of efforts and working together that the PTO is able to produce events and activities that enrich the MES experience for all of us. Help us make a difference in our school and in our community and let us know how we can help you! Many thanks, The M.E.S./PTO Board.
