Vincent Elementary is one of the best kept secrets in the state of Alabama! Vincent is located in central Alabama in a small rural community, thirty-six miles southeast of the metropolitan city of Birmingham. Vincent is frequently recognized for its part in educating the children of Alabama.
The school made history in Alabama by being the first one in the state to pilot a revised calendar. Even though we have since changed back to a similar school calendar to be consistent with the county-wide schedule, we are still regularly recognized for our once popular piloted program!
In addition, our classrooms reach the individual needs of students by providing unique learning environments. Team teaching, individualized instruction, peer tutoring, cooperative learning, and hands-on manipulatives help children progress. Students are given the opportunity to work at their own pace, allowing them to accelerate through the curriculum as needed.
Vincent Elementary School received an Office of School Readiness State department grant in 2007 to begin a preschool program. This program serves 18 four year old students with a certified teacher and aide. This is the 6th year.
We have 458 students and 60 faculty and staff. Vincent has also been recognized from the Stephen Covey foundation as a Lighthouse School in 2013, just 4 years after taking on the leadership initiative.
