Ms. Brand has over 17 years of experience in education. Over the course of her teaching career she has served as both an instructional coach and science teacher, as well as coached numerous girls’ athletic teams. Prior to joining the administrative staff of Helena High School, Ms. Brand served as assistant principal at Oak Mountain High School. Prior to moving into school administration, Ms. Brand served as a science teacher at Homewood High School. Ms. Brand earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Jacksonville State University. She completed her certification in Educational Administration and her Educational Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership from Samford University. Currently, she is enrolled at UAB pursuing her doctorate in Educational Leadership. Ms. Brand is passionate about young people and dedicated to preparing them for the future. She is excited to be a part of the staff at Helena High School and establishing the foundation for excellence.
Mr. Butts has over 14 years experience in public education. Before joining the Helena High team, he served as the Coordinator of the Comeback Academy at Thomasville High School. Mr. Butts earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from Faulkner University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of West Alabama.
Ms. Bahr has ten years of teaching experience at the ninth, tenth and twelfth grade levels at Oak Mountain High School. She earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama. In 2016, Ms. Bahr completed her degree in Instructional Leadership at the University of Montevallo.
